Fishing and Shooting Rules
Fishing Rules
1. Please park sensibly, do not block access, and keep the gate locked.
2. The car park nearest to the Lodges has one parking space per lodge. All other vehicles should be parked in the overflow car park nearer to the road.
3. The use of loud radios, bad language, abusive behaviour etc. is Strictly Forbidden.
4. If you have paid for a daily fishing permit you are allowed to fish for one day with two rods. If you have paid for a family fishing permit upto four members of your party are allowed to fish daily for one week with two rods.
Rods & line with baited hooks must not be left unattended.
5. All nets, weigh slings and unhooking mats should be disinfected and dry before use and must be of a suitable size.
6. No braid main lines, lead core, fixed leads to be used. Running rigs, lead clips and inline leads (free running only) no bolt rigs.
7. Barbless hooks only.
8. No keep nets or sacks to be used at any time. No Bait Boats.
9. All fish to be returned to the lake from which they were caught, alive and unharmed immediately after capture.
10. Respect other anglers.
11. No wading, swimming or boats allowed.
12. Do not cut or damage bank side vegetation or trees etc. Please contact the Farm Office if vegetation is obstructing your fishing.
13. Do not light fires.
14. Night fishing is allowed if it does not disturb other guests.
15. Bivvies are only permitted if they do not obstruct a path.
16. Swims can not be reserved unless a guest has a disability and requests we reserve the swim nearest to their lodge. There are two swims (one for each lake) that have priority fot disabled anglers. Please do not obstruct them.
17. Ground bait is not allowed between June to September inclusive.
18. You must hold an NRA Rod & Line licence.
19. Visiting friends who are not staying on holiday with you, may only fish with Ashby Farms Ltd. prior permission.
20. Do not throw into the water or leave on the ground any litter, this can kill and damage wildlife (This includes discarded nylon line, tins, bottles, etc.)
21. Firearms & Airguns may only be used with prior permission from Ashby Farms Ltd. Permission will not be given to shoot in the woods around Fishermans Lodge.
22. Dogs and Children must be kept under strict control at all times, dogs always kept on lead when outside
N.B. You will be held responsible for any litter found where you are/were fishing. Failure to observe the above rules or acting in any way which interferes with the enjoyment of others or their use of the waters will result in the offender being asked to leave and banned from further use of the facilities.

Shooting Rules
We do not provide or offer hire of any firearms or equipment.
Before you come to shoot you must provide us with a copy of your valid gun license.
We will send you a map showing the area where you are allowed to shoot - do not shoot outside of the marked area.
Failure to observe the above rules or acting in any way which interferes with the enjoyment of others or their use of the waters will result in the offender being asked to leave and banned from further use of the facilities.
